AI Literacy in Higher Education
This project is about designing, implementing, and studying an online AI Literacy for Teaching microcredential for graduate students, faculty, and staff in higher education. The microcredential is designed to help participants develop their understanding of AI and their ability to make informed decisions about its use in teaching. The research examines whether and how participants’ AI literacy for teaching develops over the course of the program. Using a mixed-methods design, the study draws on pre- and post-surveys, discussion posts, assignment artifacts, and participant interviews to examine both changes in participants’ competence and how that development takes place during the learning experience.
My Contributions
My work on this project spans both the development of the microcredential and the research conducted around it. For the microcredential, I reviewed and synthesized relevant literature to develop the Module 1 content and contributed to the ongoing review and revision of materials across the modules. I also created instructional visuals and interactive activities, developed HTML-based materials and course banners, reviewed instructional content, edited videos, and designed four discipline-based AI-integrated cases. I also developed multiple course chatbots to support participants throughout the microcredential. For Module 3, I created a tutorial as part of the instructional content.
I also contributed to the research and formative evaluation of the microcredential. I conducted four expert reviews, synthesized the feedback into a structured set of recommendations, and used the findings to inform subsequent course revisions. For the research study, I contributed to developing and refining the instrument and preparing participant-facing research materials. I am also involved in the ongoing data collection, including pre- and post-surveys, discussion posts, assignment artifacts, and participant interviews.

Formative Evaluation
As part of the formative evaluation process, I conducted four expert reviews and synthesized the feedback into a structured set of recommendations. The findings informed subsequent revisions to the microcredential, and I contributed to incorporating the feedback into the revised course materials and learning activities.
Instructional Development
This is one of four discipline-based AI-integrated cases developed across qualitative research, inclusive learning, media literacy, and data analysis. The selected case focuses on AI and media literacy, emphasizing critical evaluation, ethical use, and human judgment in AI-supported media creation.
